14-Year-Old Stabs Another Teen During Altercation In Area, Police Say

A 14-year-old teen was arrested for allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old during an incident in the area.

The incident took place around 4:19 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16, when Town of Poughkeepsie Police responded to a reported stabbing at the Mountain Brook Apartments complex on Innis Avenue, Lt. Shannon Rodriguez said.

When officers arrived on the scene they located the 17-year-old victim from Poughkeepsie with a non-life-threatening stab wound, Rodriguez said.

The teen was transported by Moble Life Ambululance to Vassar Brothers Medical Center for treatment, she added.

Through an investigation, officers on the scene were able to apprehend the 14-year-old from Hyde Park in connection with the stabbing.

He was charged with assault and released to a parent.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police was assisted by the City of Poughkeepsie Police.
